(AMP Enterprises) Anthony Terry, Head Official for the football tournament this year addressed the attendees. He said that the officials were working on the professional appearance with the football players. This year, the officials are stressing the way that the football uniform is worn. It must be worn properly in order to be on the field. He mentioned about the football pants being above the knee. That is not acceptable. The pants must cover the knees. The officials are also stressing to the coaches the tackling techniques that the football players have been taught and/or have been using. The officials are stressing that the players STOP using their head as a defense or a weapon. The shoulders should be used more, especially when running the ball. Using the shoulder pads instead of the helmet for defense will prevent head injuries. He stressed to the coaches several times that they should relay this information to their team players.
